The third mystery strand to Spud Collective has been revealed! CHIP IN is a programme of workshops and seminars led by art professionals, on all sorts of things we as artists need help on! We think it’s important to get 1 on 1 support as well as group discussion, so this one is all about professionalising your practise, and getting funding; led by the very knowledgable (and lovely!) Gwen Van Spijk. The very first Chip In has been funded by and designed in collaboration with the St Hugh’s Foundation for the Arts in association with Spud Collective.
WHERE: Lincoln Performing Arts Centre
WHEN: 16 June 11am until 5pm
WHO’S IT FOR: The workshop is suitable for artists working in visual arts, crafts, live performance and related disciplines who live in Lincolnshire (including North and North East Lincolnshire), the City of Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire . This is a professional development workshop for early career artists on how best to fulfil their potential and establish a viable business out of their art.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Topics we will look at include
The day will be a combination of presentations, case studies, individual and small group exercises and discussion; and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
At the end of the day participants will have an action plan for how to move forward from their current position.
The workshop is delivered by Gwen Van Spijk; an independent producer, mentor and consultant with a 25-year history of working in arts management that has included working with independent artists and companies on day to day management and long term development; strategic initiatives for major institutions; and producing one-off projects for landmark cultural events.
The St Hugh’s Foundation for the Arts is a registered charity, formed in 1991. Since 1992 we have made over 100 awards to artists and arts organisations in the City of Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire (including North and North East Lincolnshire). We are committed to supporting highest standards of arts practice in our area through provision of an annual Award programme and development workshops. Visit their website here.
HOW CAN I BOOK: Places are available from Lincoln Performing Arts Centre Box Office from Friday 12th May.
